Pre-School and Kinderdance
Class objectives include learning to take instruction, developing coordination and rhythm, while expanding creativity through mime and dance.
Ballet
Classes will cover the principles of classic dance. An eclectic approach to ballet, taking the best of English, Italian, French, Russian and Danish techniques, distinguishing our school from many others while better preparing the student.
Jazz
We begin with a warm-up of stretches, isolations, and developing the full range of movement in the torso. Center/Floor Adagio, jazz runs, walk pirouettes, and combinations are coupled with "up" paced contemporary music.
Lyrical Jazz
Lyrical Jazz combines the technique of ballet with the power and rhythm of jazz and the improvisation of modern, giving the dancer freedom and expression of movement.
Modern
Modern combines technique with creative movement in a structured atmosphere. At the higher levels, students are encouraged to improvise and choreograph.
Tap
Timing and rhythm are starting points in tap. The Al Gilbert method is taught at the beginning level only. Intermediate and Advanced levels are free-form.
Technique
This class is for Level III Ballet and higher. Conditioning and stretch is part of the class. The student will study movement on an individual basis.
Musical Theater
This class teaches the basics of musical theater, including practice scenes for a television commercial or theater production. The students will learn to sing a song with a tap/jazz routine, and learn the "do's and don'ts" of show business.
Dance Competition
Dance Competition is a program that gives students the opportunity to perform and compete against students from other studios.
